Water mains represent the largest single investment in a distribution system. Water mains have long service lives; some more than 100 years old.
In this DVD, employees learn about the many types of pipe, the advantages and disadvantages of each type of pipe, and its internal pressure and external load ratings. They are also schooled in installation practices, bedding and support, joining, fittings, tapping, handling safety, causes of corrosion, corrosion protection, pipe rehab, repair, and linings, and pipe inspecation techniques, maintenance and record keeping.
