Easy to use, 5-tube method for determining the presence or absence of total coliform bacteria in drinking water.  Simply add 10 mL of your water sample to each of the 5 separate tubes that contain a coliform indicating tablet.  Incubate at room temperature for 44 to 48 hours before evaluating results.  No expensive equipment is required.  The presence of coliform bacteria is indicated by a yellow color change and gas production.  Test method and results closely parallel the Most Probable Numbers (MPN) test outlined in Standard Methods.  One test per kit, 6 month shelf life.
