The Foxcroft FX-CL series of amperometric chlorine analyzers with diret reading bare electrodes provide continuous on-line free or total chrloine easurement and control without toxic reagents.

Both models feature a self-cleaning measuring cell and 4.3" full color touch screen that displays concentration in mg/L, temperature, high/low alarm and flow status. Configuration and calibration is done via the touch screen.

Improved 24 VDC brushless mixing and pH buffer feed motors are cooler running and offer enhanced performance over earlier generations. The variable speed buffer feed motor allows you to optimize the pH buffer feed to water samples with high pH or total alkalinity.

High-grade bare electrodes, large orifices, continuous cell mixing and cleaning with vinegar allos the FX-CL to work where probe sensors cannot due to membrane cloggin in wastewater, groundwater and process water with high levels of hardness, iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide or suspended solids.


No costly or toxic reagents are required for operation. The analyzer uses ordinary food grade distilled white vinegar to buffer the sample pH for direct free chlorine readings. Total chlorine is measured by adding potassium iodide to the buffer solution.


This model features a second pump to fee potassium iodide solution spearately from the pH buffer for total chlorine or to feed KI solution from a large container to minimize fuild maintenance. The KI needed to measure total chlorine degrades in acidic pH buffers; the effective life is around 7 days per gallon. In the high doses need to measure 20 ppm the effective life is even shorter. Mixing the KI with distilled water and pumping it separately from the pH buffer eliminates these issued. 100-264 VAC.

This Amperometric measurement system uses inexpensive, non-toxic, food-grade vinegar for pH buffering and cleaning, eliminating the use of large quantities of toxic reagents often used by other colorimetric systems. It also does not exhibit a 3-5 minute delay while performing the measurement, providing a true real-time measurement system.

The FX-1000P measures Free Chlorine using only food grade vinegar available at any grocery store; or Total chlorine by adding potassium iodide to the vinegar pH buffer. The FX-1000P-B measures Free Chlorine only and is only suitable for drinking water applications with stable pH and low total alkalinity.
