The 4" and 4.5" Hose
Monster allow flushing and flow testing of large capacity water mains
through the hydrant pumper port. The dangerous and destructive force of
high velocity water is practically eliminated. Minimize safety concerns
such as traffic and pedestrian interference. Discharge damage to
landscaping and pavement can be eliminated while at the same time flow
rates are measured with Underwriters Laboratories and Factory Mutual
precision.
The Hose Monster is UL Certified and
Factory Mutual Approved for flow rate accuracy between approximately
1000 and 2900 GPM. Water flowing into the Hose Monster is measured
through the internal UL FM orifice plate, and then split into two equal
and opposing directions, thus canceling the thrust. The orifice plate is
not subject to damage from debris as a pitot is. As a testimonial,
hundreds of Hose Monsters are in service and to date, not one has been
reported damaged by flushing debris.
Stay dry by using the
Remote Reader to take pitot readings while standing at the hydrant away
from the flowing water.
