- Economical, Dependable and Easy to Operate!
- 2 active frequencies (815 Hz/82 kHz) allow accurate tracing in congested
areas or the length of a single line Powerful 1 watt tracing signal
- Powerful 1 watt tracing signal is reliable for direct connection, transmitter
and coupled induction
- Dual antennas work in peak or null mode
Simple to operate, the Path Finder II pinpoints underground cables
and pipes in either a peak or a null response. An analog meter displays
visual signal indication and a variable pitch tone gives the user
an audio indication of the signal response.
The 8856-1W transmitter and receiver are both housed in a lightweight
and durable carrying case that is built to withstand years of
field abuse and transportation.
The 8856-1W Path Finder II offers the user two frequencies. The lower
frequency 815 Hz is optimal for cable locating and steel or copper
pipe locating. This low frequency offers the best locating opportunities
with the least probability of false coupling or "bleed off" to
adjacent pipes and cables. Low frequency also offers greater locating
distance from the transmitter.
The 82 kHz high frequency offers the user three methods of signal
application and stronger signal strength over a shorter distance. High
frequencies provide the ability for inductive coupling without direct
connection. This means a signal can be applied to a cable or pipe by
simply placing the transmitter over the target utility or by using an
optional coupler accessory which is simply clamped around the target
cable. These additional methods of connection are useful when
direct connection is impossible.
