Reservoir draining using a Manifold and
Feed Tube Extensions attached to a 8" riser
Custom PVC manifolds are available to mate
multiple LPD-250s to risers for flushing larger pipes. The manifolds are
designed to provide uniform flow to each LPD-250.
The 4-LPD-250 custom manifold shown in the
photo is connected to an 8" -diameter riser on an 8-mile-long,
24"-diameter pipeline. A flow rate of 4,200 GPM was required to flush
the pipeline at 3 fps.
The flow was discharged into a temporary
1,000,000-gallon, plastic-lined reservoir and later released at a lower
flow rate.
