MLX LOCATOR OVERVIEW
Goldak Model MLX Series EMS Marker Locators detect and pinpoint standard
Electronic Marker System (EMS) markers, at specified depths or greater.
Operation of the MLX series is simple, relying on the activation of a
single trigger on the gun-style pistol grip (Click On, Click Off). An
internal microcontroller guarantees precise performance and provides for
other features, such as marker depth approximation, auto-shutdown, and
battery status monitoring.
The MLX series RESPONSE display allows the user to pinpoint the
underground marker with no control adjustments, and the DEPTH display
estimates the depth of the marker. A distinct audio sound varies in
volume to accompany the displayed response. The detection circuitry is
precisely tuned to the standard frequency of the intended marker; it
does not respond to electronic markers for other utilities. Nor is the
MLX EMS Locator affected by nearby metallic structures, conductive
lines, or AC power.
The Goldak MLX Series EMS Marker Locator is compatible with 3M
ScotchMark™ EMS Markers and Omni Marker™ Electronic Markers. The
instrument is delivered ready-to-use in a compact, light-weight carrying
bag, and includes a brief operating instruction card.
