Only two controls
designed for one-hand operation, the On/Off Sensitivity control and
the Volume control are located on the underside of the cover.
This provides easy access, protects the knobs, and also
contributes to the overall ruggedness and reliability of the GA-52CX. |
The GA-52Cx detects the magnetic field of any iron or steel object even
when covered by ground, pavement, snow or shallow water. Its two
magnetic-field sensors balance out the effect of the Earth's magnetic
field. As long as this balance exists, the frequency of the audio output
signal remains at 40 Hz.
Simply set the sensitivity control for Normal Range and adjust the volume
control to a comfortable level. Move it from side-to-side in a sweeping
motion. When the locator comes within range of an iron object, the frequency
of the audio output signal increases. With experience, the user can
distinguish between small pieces of scrap iron and actual targets. |
