(A) Fire Hydrant Kit
For a fire hydrant hookup, the High Power RD500 Transonde (red) is used with the appropriate adapters.

(B) Meter Base
The Medium Power RD500 Transonde transmitter (yellow) can be attached to the water meter base using the supplied adapters.

(C) Sprinklers and Service Lines Kit
The RD500 Pak provides the Transonde Low Power transmitter (green) and adapters for plastic water service lines as well as residential and commercial sprinkler systems.

RD500 LOCATOR DETAILS

The RD500 Locator makes locating plastic pipes quick, accurate and easy. The RD500 uses a low-frequency, pressure wave carried by fluid in the pipe. This pressure wave can be located by the RD500 receiver over distances of up to 500 feet.  The pressure wave "signal" can be applied at any fire hydrant, meter base, sprinkler head or clean-out and is audible at the point of application.

The RD500 receiver comes with a 62-inch earth probe, concrete/asphalt disc, headphones, carrying case, and videotape. The receiver is powered by a 9-volt battery and provides pinpointing information using an analog meter and headphones. A simple gain control regulates the receiver sensitivity to locate mains and service lines. If you would like you can buy the Transondes separately and use your own leak detector to detect the centerline.
