The TTMP series of mechanical test plugs from Safe-T-Seal are a patented design and are the only units currently available on the market that will withstand the pressure of a 15 story building.
The TTMP series has a unique two stage mechanical locking mechanism that holds the unit in place after being positioned in the pipe.
Once in position the plug can be padlocked in place to assure user safety. The two stage mechanism is also designed to allow you to drain the water from the pipe after use without getting wet.
The plug remains in the pipe during the draining process deflecting the water away from the opening.
Mechanical test plugs are inherently safer then other methods since there is nothing to pressurize there is no opportunity for the plug to burst. The TTMP series is designed to work with both plastic and cast iron pipe of various sizes.
TTMP series are designed to go in through a plug or cap on the standpipe, see illustration. TYMP models are available to enter pipe through a wye. Contact Pollardwater.com for TYMP models. Rubber pads on all models are replaceable.
