BLOWER OVERVIEW

Roots URAI blowers are heavy duty blowers designed with detachable rugged steel mounting feet which permit easy in-field adaptability to either vertical or horizontal installation requirements in any one of four drive shaft positions. Note when referring to Roots URAI blowers, “vertical” and “horizontal” refers to the plane of the shafts, not the inlet and outlet port, i.e. a URAI mounted vertically has its inlet and outlet ports positioned horizontally.

The basic URAI model has a one-piece cast iron casing and cast iron involute impellers. Carburized and ground alloy steel spur timing gears are secured to the steel shafts with a taper mounting and locknut. Oversize antifriction bearings are used, with a cylindrical roller bearing at the drive shaft to withstand V-belt pull. The URAI features thrust control with splash oil lube on the gear end and grease lube on the drive end. URAI DSL model blowers with Double Splash Lube on both ends are available at optional cost.

Roots URAI blowers are warranted for two years subject to conditions and terms set forth by the factory. We strongly recommend the use of lubricants and grease specifically recommended by Roots for use in their blowers to keep them in peak operating condition. Roots approved lubricants.
