Sewage Air Release Valve

Sewage air release valves are float operated and incorporate a compound lever mechanism to enable the valve to automatically release accumulated air and gases from a sewage pipeline while the system is pressurized and operating.

The float is mounted on a long vertical rod within a 20-1/2" tall body to prevent debris from reaching the linkage/lever mechanism at the top, which can be removed from the valve for inspection without disassembly of the mechanism.

Standard 2" and 3" valves have 3/16" orifices that vent at 32 SCFM at 75 psi and 58.7 SCFM at 150 psi through a 1/2" FNPT top port. Maximum working pressure is 150 psi.

The body is A126 Class B cast iron with 316 stainless steel internals. Enamel paint is standard. Other coatings are available as options.

1/2" and 1" pipe plugs are located at the top and bottom of the housing respectively for connecting hose for flushing. Sewage air valves equipped with a flushing attachment come with bronze shut-off valves, quick-connect couplings and 5' of rubber hose for backwashing with clear water. This option is recommended when heavy amounts of grease and solids are anticipated.
