In-line or loop piping design
Quick and easy basket cleaning
When pipeline system components require protection from dirt and debris, a Hayward allplastic
strainer is the ideal choice. Unwanted particles are removed as the process media
passes through a perforated strainer basket contained inside the body.
Cleaning is quick and easy. The hand removable, spin-off cover features two angled handles
for easy access to the strainer basket. The housing has external cover threads which do not
contact the process media and never need cleaning. Venting and draining are made possible
by two hand removable, threaded plugs, one on top and the other on the bottom side of the
The unique housing design incorporates three piping connections on the strainer outlet that
can be used as inlets and outlets. You can choose between in-line and loop piping confi gurations.
The unused connection is plugged with a blind fitting (included).
PVC housing is rated 150 psi @ 70°F non-shock and has an integral, flat mounting base. Standard
seals are FPM with EPDM available as an option, and the standard basket is plastic with
Plastic baskets are also available with 1/32", 1/16", and 3/16" perforations, and you can substitute
one size for another at no extra charge as long as you specify the desired size at the
time you place your order for the housing. Stainless steel baskets in 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100
mesh are also available at extra cost. We recommend that one spare basket be kept on hand
at all times.
Duplex strainers are a great choice if it is not possible or desirable to shut down your process line to clean
a strainer basket. Two simplex strainers assembled with diverter valves enable cleaning one basket while
the other is in operation. As is the case with the simplex baskets, duplex strainers can be set up for in-line
or loop piping configurations.
