TAPS SCRUBBER OVERVIEW
Designed for conditions faced in municipal wastewater applications.
The scrubbers contain multiple types of media. Model M1 contains 4 cubic feet of media and weighs 200 lbs; is 21 inches in diameter and 44 inches high with a fan, 36 inches high without a fan. The Model M2 contains 7 Plus cubic feet of media and weighs 365 lbs and is 24 inches in diameter and 52 inches high with a fan and 43 inches high without a fan. Both are supplied with a custom-molded top, which is shipped with the scrubber and attached during installation.
The first installation will probably take you several hours; replacement less than ten minutes. An optional fan is available for pulling the air through the media. If you are exhausting an air relief valve through the scrubber, you don’t need a fan.
Maybe electrical power isn’t available. Your scrubber will still function passively. If the area being treated is not completely sealed, cracks exist in the walls, not all of the foul air will be treated. Advantages to using a fan include: Air is pulled through the scrubber making it less likely that there will be untreated leaks: H2S accumulations eventually form highly corrosive sulfuric acid. When air is constantly evacuated H2S is not allowed to accumulate which provides a strong measure of corrosion control. Fans are shipped with the domes cover shown above and have an eight foot cord with a grounded plug. |
