Already widely used throughout the United
States and Canada, the LPD-250 is the easiest dechlorination
device available. Simply fill the feed tube with tablets and the LPD-250
will do the rest. There is no chemical to mix and waste. The LPD-250 is
for use with chemically treated (4 ppm or less chlorine/chloramine)
potable water. For higher chlorine concentrations up to 300 ppm please
see our COMBO KIT. Weighing 33 lbs., the original orange LPD-250
is heavy enough to take the day-to-day abuse of flushing. You can flush
straight off a hydrant or attach a hose to point the flow where you want
it to go. The new Aluminum body yellow LPD-250ALUM has the same rugged and efficient design but weighs half as much. This is good for reducing strain on the hydrant nozzle and swivel during direct hydrant flushing. Is equipped with a pitot slot for measurement of discharge
flow rate as well as a LPD-Pitotholder to hold the Pitot in the optimal
position for readings.
CHOICE of TABLETS
The LPD-250 uses either LPD-Chlor™
tablets (contains Sodium Sulfite 81.3%) or Vita-D-Chlor™
Tablets (Ascorbic Acid-Vitamin C) which neutralizes the
chlorine/chloramines in the water you are flushing. When using
LPD-CHLOR tablets, the LPD-250 consumes about 1 tablet per 2,500 gallons
- the feed tube should be topped off with additional tablets after each
increment of about 10,000 gallons of flow. The LPD-Chlor tablets are specifically manufactured for use in the LPD without the need for a tablet screen. The diffuser can handle about 10,000 gallons between tablet recharge.
LOW or HIGH FLOW DECHLORINATION
The LPD-250 can handle flows from 200 to 1,250 GPM and hydrant pressures
up to 200 psi. For flows lower than 200 gpm, we recommend you use our
Low Flow Inserts which will
allow more water to run past the tablets, great for applications such as
pool draining. For flows higher than 1250 GPM, we recommend a hydrant wye
or you can use our
Manifold Systems to attach
up to 4 LPD-250's for up to 5,000 gpm output.
Hydrant wye's are available in 4"
or 4.5" NST and allow you to use 2 LPD-250's
off the pumper nozzle.
