How can my organization become tax exempt?

If you are interested in becoming a tax exempt organization or need more details about becoming qualified, please contact your state’s tax authority. The requirements vary from state-to-state, and from organization-to-organization. The basic categories of exemption are:

  • Entity-based
  • Product-based
  • Use-based

This means that you may or may not be granted an exemption certificate by your state’s tax authority depending on your type of organization, the type of products you are purchasing, and the nature of the application in which the products will be used.
